Painted Pullover

$9.00

Check out Essence of Autumn’s beautiful yarn (and kits!) here!

The Painted Pullover is a top-down, seamless raglan mock-turtleneck sweater with a boxy, relaxed fit. The loose gauge gives this sweater lovely, flattering drape and is extremely comfortable to wear!

The shaping of this design is fairly simple, the interest comes from the painterly effect of the 3 colors used blending in and out, interspersed with occasional purl rounds for textural interest. Painted was designed specifically to highlight the textural qualities and stunning colors of Essence of Autumn’s Pearl Merino, a fingering weight slub yarn. This sweater would be beautiful in alternative yarns as well- I recommend looking with 3 highly variegated colors to make the most of the gentle blending effect, and of course swatch to make sure you can achieve gauge!

You can find this yarn, including gorgeous kit options at Essence of Autumn. Thank you so much to Sheryl for the inspiration your beautiful colors provided!

Sheryl and I are both wearing size 4 samples in our photos. Caitlin’s is shown with 18.75” of positive ease, and Sheryl’s is shown with 15.75” of positive ease. This design allows lots of freedom in choosing a size that best suits your style- be sure to check out the wonderful testers’ projects to see more variety in sizing and yarn choices! Thank you so much to the talented testers on this project!!
