My Mission Statement

Boyland Knitworks was created with the hope of spreading joy and comfort through the art of knitting. Knitting is a craft that brings us together, allows us to slow down and helps us focus on appreciating the little things that bring life meaning.

I love that this work gives me the opportunity to share my passion for design with a community that can then infuse my patterns with their own personality, love and care. Each pattern I create is just a road map for your own unique journey with a knitted garment or accessory. Your yarn choices, the fibers and colors that speak to you, and the modifications you may choose to make all bring another layer of life to the template that Boyland Knitworks patterns provide.

Seeing the creations that such a diverse, multicultural group of people create from my art has been the greatest joy I could have possibly imagined. Even more rewarding are all the wonderful friendships I’ve gained through my work, and the bonds I’ve formed with people from all over the world and from all walks of life – people who I otherwise would have never had the opportunity to meet. I am so grateful for that.

In this work I am honored to have the privilege to help boost and support other small businesses, and I work with yarn makers and dyers whose values align with my own. Working with small, women and minority owned businesses that are dedicated to inclusion, diversity and giving back in their own communities and beyond has always been and will continue to be one of the core values of Boyland Knitworks.

Giving back is a key value of Boyland Knitworks, and we are proud to be able make monthly recurring donations to the following organizations:

The Trevor Project

Black Mamas Matter

South Peninsula Haven House

Thank you for joining me on this journey as I continue to grow as a designer, business owner and member of this community.

Warmest wishes and happiest knitting to you all,

Caitlin Hunter
